Revised Data Protection Act in force since 01.09.2023

The new Data Protection Act (DPA) now closes all loopholes and protects the fundamental rights and personality of private individuals (legal entities are not affected). The goal is transparency. Every person, customer as well as employee, is authorized to view his own data at any time and to be informed about the use. No personal data can be disclosed without authorization or consent. In the event of non-compliance, the person responsible may be fined up to 250,000 Swiss francs. These regulations lead to more security and trust in the digital world and Swiss companies remain competitive, as the law has been aligned with the standards applicable in the EU.
